10:10:2007:
Short update from Tim Gutierrez - "Been quiet of late but a
few things going on around here… though the results may be a ways off yet. We’ve
recently started a third album. Right now we have nine songs written, but two of
those may be frankensteined for the best parts and turned into one song. Very
pleased with the new stuff thus far. They are in various early states of being
tracked and there are always plenty of other song ideas waiting to be worked up.
Also been tossing around the idea of covering another old favorite of ours-
“Irrelevant Thoughts” by Prong. So if that turns out well it will probably be
included.
We’ve also made the decision to try to finally put together a live line-up to do
a few future shows. Have run into a few early roadblocks while recruiting guys
but that is something else we are putting together as time allows. As guys are
added we will post something.
The latest album “The Conjoined” has been out there for a few months now (via
Burning Star) so check it out if you’d like. Have received pretty cool feedback
on it so far. Other than that Kevin has been keeping busy mixing the Raven and
Adversary albums. Plus will be running live sound on a couple upcoming Raven
shows this weekend. Eric and E-Force should finally have their new album
“Modified Poison” released pretty soon too (via Thundering/Manitou)."

07:13:2007:
Kevin 131 is currently at work manning the board for Raven. He updates - "Middle
of the Raven sessions! We have been working round the clock and everyone is
fried, thank goodness I started drinking coffee last year, overpriced Starbucks
and Dunkin Donuts have been saving us all. The guys all decided to keep the
previous 4 songs that were tracked here the way they are. I imagine we may
revisit the mix a bit, but something nice was captured. To be honest, I am not
sure what the hell we all did- so it was more of the same this time- set up and
go! Don't over think it... that's how Raven is best, no click track, no over
doing it- capture their energy and don't look to make it happen later. If it
don't happen on the way down, it ain't there. Of course, I don't really have to
do anything- they have it all worked out.
Seeing John play that 12 string bass with his fingers is insane... then he bends
the notes to boot. And Mark's memory is crazy, we'll figure our way through a
take, then next time, he pretty much has it. From what they tell me, some of
these songs are brand new, so they are still sorting parts as we go. No micro
managing parts- the rawness and edge and punch are all there in the tones. Once
again going for the All for One vibe, but with the teeth of Life's a Bitch. The
songs are great and the guys are funny. I wish people could hear the outtakes of
solos bass runs, and general stupidity. These guys have their chops, but also
good senses of humor. Mark has his strings so high up with (bad) action I am not
sure how he plays them... but it makes the tones killer, even if he has to
brutalize the guitar- and all hail the 9 thousand dollar Veleno guitar... back
to back on tracks with about three 150 dollar basses and guitars, it's all about
the tone...
3am must sleep... at it again tomorrow. I like this record, hopefully the people
who have loved Raven all along will see it's good old Raven here! Dammit,
everyone says it, but as a fan, this record is cool."

09:25:2006:
An update on the label situation... some time ago P:FF
decided to no longer work with Karmageddon Media. A new deal has been worked out
and will be announced very soon. Kevin 131 issues the following statement -
"As much as we hate to see the same reason in the press over and over, we have to
warn other bands not to work with Karmageddon or Guido [Karmageddon
head honcho]. Simply put, we signed a contract that said we would send them our
masters, they would send us money for them. We sent the masters, then they sent
us a check for one-fifth of the amount, with an explanation that we would get
payments. Not what we agreed on at all. In the meantime, they put out the record
(which they didn't even totally own!). Totally uncool. We spent the next two
years giving them every opportunity to square up with us. They sent two more
payments, then stopped. At one point we even decided to be cool and let them
send us copies of our own CD and we would give them credit for it. They sent us
a box of CDs, not shrink-wrapped and not even close to the number we agreed on."
"As of right now, we are still owed money and may pursue it further. We still
hope Guido takes the chance to be a stand-up guy and square up with us, but for
now we doubt that will happen. We sent e-mail after e-mail, no reply. Even sent
one last week. No reply. So for now we just want to work with people who are
cool and love doing music and love metal and are honest people — which is what
we are doing. We will announce a new label signing quite soon, perhaps as early
as next week. The new record ['The Conjoined'] is complete and has been getting
great reviews from the people who have heard it! Most of all, we are happy with
it and just want to make some cool, brutal, tunes. After all, people want to
hear music, not junk like the above."
08:23:2006: Medical Dramas page updated. New article posted.
06:15:2006: Two new songs ("Eve of Demise" and "Surface Noise") from the upcoming album "The Conjoined" have now been posted on the music page. The songs are also posted on the MySpace page here. The album was finished earlier in the year and should see release in 2006. P:FF instrumentalist Tim Gutierrez adds - "Finally have some new tunes up to hear. Hope to get the album out asap. Working on some boring business things. In the meantime we've been compiling starting ideas and riffs for a third album. Kevin has been busy producing. Recently working with NWOBHM heroes Raven on some demos. Eric has been hard at work writing and preparing a new E-Force album as well." More info upcoming.

Those who wish to also download the song can do so on the P:FF MySpace page here. This is an internet only track recorded during the sessions for the upcoming album "The Conjoined" and will not appear on the album. The album is complete and will see release in early 2006. More song samples will be posted when a release date is set.
01:13:2006: Kevin 131 has issued another quick update from the studio - "As previously posted we have finished all the mixes on the new Project: Failing Flesh record ("The Conjoined") and are ready to take it to mastering next week. We have been taking a break from the mixes and I have been busy producing demos for a new band from Virginia called Adversary. They had never recorded before, so it has been a good bit of work in a super short time. They play some cool stuff - kinda like Sadus meets Soilwork or something. The break has been good because then we will revisit the P:FF songs for any last set of adjustments before they are set in stone. After mastering- artwork, pressing and the usual set of CD delays will happen but a release should be in early 2006 sometime. We will be posting the bonus track from the recording sessions, a cover of the Celtic Frost classic "The Usurper," right after mastering so will let you guys know when that is up- should be before the end of January! Cheers, Kevin"
01:07:2006: "The Conjoined" is scheduled to be mastered on January 24.
12:30:2005: The band thanks all those who supported Project: Failing Flesh in 2005. Lots should be going on in the P:FF camp in the upcoming months. Have a cool and safe 2006!
12:07:2005: P:FF's Kevin 131 recently checked in with this update on progress of the new album- "Kevin, checking in from the studio here. We have just about finished mixing the new record. I have spent the last few weeks doing mixes, letting them rest awhile, then going back and doing recalls and minor adjustments. All the songs are mixed now and Tim (and myself) are listening and making notes. Eric is back in France and forced to listen to rough mixes only... for now. A few have asked about the new record, so I wanted to post a new update. Things are well underway... as most everyone knows, the process takes awhile. Doing a song a day, give or take... a few were upwards to 60-70 tracks. The title track (The Conjoined) has a drum core section that alone was 20-30 tracks. Not to mention mikes all over the place. And then the takes of close miked drumming stuff that me and Tim did in addition. So just getting them sorted out took the better part of a day. What the hell were we thinking when we recorded these songs? I may have to punish Tim for this. Certainly no presents for Christmas this year. - The songs are sounding great, very happy with them. But I guess every band says that about their new record. Eric sounds the best he ever has, Tim's riffing and ideas are sick as usual, and the songs are quite varied. Nice places that break it up with strange parts. Same as last time, we just did whatever we wanted to for this record. It’s not all the same type of sound all the way through, enough things to keep it interesting. Artwork in progress, mastering next, and then we are aiming for a release early 2006. Before then we will have an internet only track available for download on http://www.myspace.com/projectfailingflesh. It will only be available there, not even on our official website until a bit later. Go and add us there if you’d like to be informed when it comes out, we will make a post when it is."
12:02:2005: The P:FF MySpace page is now up and operational. There will upcoming songs from the next CD "The Conjoined" and an internet only cover track available to download there in the near future. The page can be visted at myspace.com/projectfailingflesh
10:12:2005: The "latest features" section of the Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles webpage has a recently posted article by writer Carl Begai on the subject of Eric Forrest remembering his times with Piggy of Voivod. This cool tribute article can be read here or by visiting the link on the BW&BK mainpage.
09:20:2005: P:FF member Kevin 131 has issued the following statement - "As reported here before, Eric was finally in the studio with us to do vocals. He had come over from France early, to pay his respects to Piggy. I have to admit, the timing is bittersweet- we were glad to have him here to do the record- but just the week before he was here for another reason. Eric had some great Piggy stories for me- and made me respect the guy and his work even more. Here's to Piggy- not forgotten in space! -The songs are amazing. I told Eric I think this is the best he has sounded on ANY record I have heard him on. More complete, more brutal, and more "types" of voices. The brutal stuff, some black metal type vocals, death metal low growls, sung stuff, weird voices- and all in ways that seem to fit each part. Not doing too much just to do it, but doing what fit. All in all, we have been SUPER excited at the way this record is sounding. This is actually the first metal record I have done this year since the Deceased record, so it is good to be able to put all the ideas I have in my head to use. -The next step is to go back through a last round of overdubs with some various instruments... and then I'll be able to start mixing. Once I start, the mixes should take about 2 weeks. I usually mix one a day. So that will be about 10-12 days. Then we'll go back for recalls and make any fine adjustments. From there, we'll take it to mastering and then the usual processes, artwork, replication. Blah, blah, blah, everyone knows. Hopefully the record will surface late in the year, or early next year. Most of all, we are totally happy with it and have been having a great time making more brutal tunes."
09:08:2005: Project: Failing Flesh instrumentalist Tim Gutierrez issued this update during recording of vocals for the upcoming CD titled "The Conjoined." - "Well, we've finaaaaaaally got to laying down some vocals and finishing this thing up. Eric arrived from France (via Montreal) on Wednesday morning and we dove right in. So far things are going smoothly, the vocals are brutal, and the songs are sounding great! He did final vox takes for a cover (which won't appear on the album but will be available free to hear on the site soon) and two originals so far - "Motionless" and "Synesthesia." We'll all be working together til early next week on lyrics, ideas, and final vocal takes so another update may be issued closer to then or just after finishing up. Hopefully we'll have some video clips to put up on the 9mm Movie page soon too. Kev and I compiled a small amount of footage during earlier sessions for this disc and we'll capture some of Eric in action as well. We still have no release date for the album but we're all really looking forward to getting to the mix/mastering stage so this thing will be ready to go for people to hear when the time arrives."

12:02:2004: P:FF member Kevin 131 recently issued this update from his Assembly Line Studios regarding his production/ engineering work with fellow Virginia metallers Deceased. Kevin says- "The tracking for “And The Weird Travel On” is done! It has been killer working with the guys from Deceased. Especially since we all grew up together and I literally had not seen or talked to King (Fowley, vocals) or Mark (Adams, guitars) for over 15 years. Literally. We all got back into contact again shortly after King had his stroke. Now, he is back near 100% and he certainly keeps the sessions moving and entertaining. He is full of energy and keeps us laughing and motivated the whole time. All the while, he knows we have to move fast on the "indie budget" – and it’s my job to keep us to the best quality we can get, and make sure things are sounding right. They can play fast and blurry, and then get more traditional, and then move into odd sections, so the main goal was to keep them sounding heavy and brutal, but not too polished. I think they will kill me if I put on any Swedish or modern metal bands to reference to while we are tracking! I love that stuff, but the guys would have my head on a plate and send it to Wacken if we mixed to make them sound like that (laughs). So I know what direction NOT to go in! So far things are on the right track and sounding cool. We’ll be mixing this month and it’s due in early 05. When this record is done, I get back to Project: Failing Flesh to do some tracking for our next record “The Conjoined.” Writing is done. Tim and I finished guitars and drums months ago and once we lay down the bass and keys we hope to get Eric over to the States shortly after to add his vox.”

10:31:2004: In early November, Kevin 131 will be entering the studio with longtime metal flag bearers Deceased to produce/ engineer their upcoming album "As The Weird Travel On." The recording will take place at his Assembly Line Studios in Virginia. Kevin looks forward to working with King, Mark, and the rest of the band as there is a cool past history between Deceased and (now) P:FF members Kevin and Tim. Back in the mid-80's they were all part of the very small but close knit metal scene in the VA/DC/MD areas. Kevin and Tim played in a band called Wreckage and the two bands used to hang out and rehearse at each others houses. In fact, Deceased have a really cool photo history section on their official site and if you check out the '85 and '86 sections there are some photos there. As for the sessions, all involved hope this collaboration will produce great results.
